Bathroom Ideas, Designs, Trends and Pictures
Create a focal point in a small bathroom with a striking standalone sink. Becca Interiors paired a round marble sink with a vintage vanity in this farmhouse bathroom. Studio Peake tucked a marble sink into a narrow niche in this glamorous London powder room. A wrap-around backsplash in the same stone protects the hand-painted palm print wallpaper. The concrete-finished aesthetic of this bathroom are visually pleasing. The material palette works programmatically, wherein it creates a tranquil and warm vibe.

If your primary suite includes an open bathroom, use a half wall to add privacy. This compact primary suite from Fantastic Frank includes a solid half wall finished in the same light beige stucco as the rest of the room that also helps to structure the smaller space. Tiny little rows of square tiles in a vibrant green creates a clean backdrop for a deep soaking tub. A contemporary bathroom doesn’t have to be all clean lines and minimalism. Here contemporary and traditional aesthetics collide to create a contemporary bathroom that’s not at all expected. While many elements within a contemporary bath will skew more trend-focused, it’s important to create an element of timelessness, even while working with these currently trending design details.
To pull off a tropical bathroom style you’ll need plenty of lush green plants. Other natural materials like exotic wood, jute, and pampas straw also help bring the theme together. To really set the scene, why not finish it all off with a fast-flowing waterfall shower. For a modern twist on the farmhouse design, add a crisp coat of white paint to the traditional shiplap paneling. You can keep the furniture-style vanity and lush green plants to really achieve the modern farmhouse fusion.

As seen in this bathroom designed by Shawn Henderson, cork is a visually surprising material, but its benefits extend far more than cosmetics. Cork is a renewable material and it offers warmth and cushion (great for noise-reduction!) and also serves as a natural climate control mechanism. Using quirky, avant-garde materials is always a plus when the goal is to create modern look. When you’re working within a small bath, it doesn’t have to be all neutrals and minimalist elements. Adding a big dose of personality can create a special space that brings charm no matter how short on square footage your bathroom may be.
